Pharmacy Hero: Pharmacist Moved Quickly to Protect Staff, Patients During COVID-19

Today, we’re celebrating Dennis Heuer, PharmD, director of pharmacy at IV Solutions LLC in Wood Dale, Illinois. Heuer has always worked hard and cared for his patients and staff, and the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic showed how much he cares, according to his coworkers.

Heuer quickly implemented daily temperature checks and symptoms questionnaires, installed plexiglass barriers and floor stickers to maintain social distancing, and provided necessary personal protective equipment for the staff.

“Dennis works extremely hard to care for our patients and our staff,” said Lori Sobolewski, CPhT, in a message to Pharmacy Times^®. “He continually goes above and beyond daily without question or complaint.”
