Q&A: Pharmacists' Role in CKD Grows as Finerenone Eyes Label Expansion

In an interview with Pharmacy Times, Brendon Neuen, MBBS, MSc, PhD, FRACP, FASN, a nephrologist and director of the Kidney Trials Unit at Royal North Shore Hospital and clinical associate professor at the University of Sydney, discussed FIND-CKD (NCT05047263) trial findings on finerenone (Kerendia; Bayer) in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD), including those without diabetes. Neuen explained that benefits extended to a broader population than currently eligible for treatment, including patients with glomerular diseases such as immunoglobulin A (IgA) nephropathy and focal segmental glomerulosclerosis, who historically have had limited treatment options.¹
