The NAPLEX/MPJE 2015 Candidate Registration Bulletin is now available on the NABP website. The revised bulletin contains a link to the revised North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination®(NAPLEX®) competency statements that will go into effect beginning November 1, 2015. The current NAPLEX competency statements, which are in effect until through October 2015, are also available in the bulletin.

In March 2015, a standard setting study will be conducted to evaluate the current NAPLEX passing standards and to determine if any adjustments will be recommended. The study will help to ensure that the performance standard is valid and appropriate for contemporary practice standards.

Revisions to the NAPLEX competency statements are based on a recent national pharmacy practice analysis survey conducted by NABP. The NAPLEX competency statements undergo periodic reviews by a committee of subject matter experts. The reviews support the NABP mission to protect the public health by providing the state boards of pharmacy with an examination that assists them with licensure decisions that will support the expectation for safe and effective practice. Results from the analysis are reviewed by the NAPLEX Review Committee and presented to the Advisory Committee on Examinations (ACE) for policy recommendations. The approved competencies from ACE are then given to the NABP Executive Committee for final approval.

The updated NAPLEX/MPJE 2015 Candidate Registration Bulletin and additional details about the NAPLEX and Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Examination® (MPJE®) are available in thePrograms section of the NABP website.
