Wednesday, June 27th, is National HIV Testing Day, an annual campaign coordinated by the National Association of People with AIDS (NAPWA) to encourage people of all ages to "Take the Test, Take Control."

National HIV Testing Day was established by NAPWA in 1995 to increase testing around the nation so that more Americans could know their status.

People interested in getting an HIV test can visit the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention’s HIV and STD testing locator tool http://hivtest.cdc.gov/Default.aspx to find a testing site near them.

In addition, Erase Doubt will team up with Walgreens and Greater Than AIDS, a national HIV awareness and prevention campaign, to offer free testing at 46 Walgreens locations in 20 markets across the nation from June 27th to June 29th, 2012. The full list of HIV testing events can be found at Walgreenshealth.com.
