GMA Adds Jim Flannery, Long-Time Procter & Gamble Executive, to Senior Leadership Team

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Pamela G. Bailey, president and CEO of the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA), today announced that Jim Flannery has been appointed Senior Executive Vice President, Operations and Industry Affairs.

“I am pleased that Jim Flannery is joining the GMA team,” said Ms. Bailey. “Given his life-long experience and success in the consumer packaged goods industry, and his in-depth knowledge of so many of the important issues GMA manages on behalf of its members, no one is better positioned than Jim Flannery to advance GMA’s member-driven agenda.”

In his new role, Mr. Flannery will lead the association’s Industry Affairs practice and have primary responsibility for developing and implementing collaborative relationships, initiatives and programs with retailers and their trade associations across all retail channels. In addition, he will help the organization identify and implement innovative services and programs that will increase association revenue and enhance the value of GMA membership.

Mr. Flannery most recently served as Managing Director, Customer Development, Procter & Gamble (P&G) Global Operations. He spent 36 years at P&G, holding various positions in customer business development and market strategy and planning.

Jim has also held volunteer leadership positions at GMA, the Food Marketing Institute and Efficient Consumer Response-Asia. He was also instrumental in the creation of the Consumer Goods Forum.

“I am thrilled to be joining the GMA team,” said Mr. Flannery. “GMA plays an important role in driving efficiency, enabling growth and providing responsible public policy solutions for its member companies, and I look forward to working with GMA’s members, retailer and supplier organizations and GMA staff to take the association to an even higher level of effectiveness.”

A native of New York, Flannery holds a B.A. degree in Human Resources Management from Upsala College in East Orange, New Jersey.

He will begin his new assignment at GMA on July 15. He will report to GMA President and CEO Pamela G. Bailey, and will serve as a member of the GMA Senior Leadership Team.
