Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy, the nation’s largest privately held specialty pharmacy company servicing the needs of patients and physicians nationwide, announces the Company’s new website is now live at www.diplomatpharmacy.com. The website redesign has been in beta testing for the past several months and was overseen by Jennifer Cretu, Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy vice president of Technology and Marketing.

“Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy has experienced explosive growth since the last significant updates were made to the website in April 2010, when the Company announced its headquarters move to Flint and an expected 1000 new jobs filled through 2015,” explained Cretu. “Our website is an entrée to Diplomat and we needed a modern, easy to navigate site that employed a simplified and more-open design.”

Highlights of the new website include:

  • An overview of Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy’s services, support, and advocacy resources for patients
  • Information on financial assistance for purchasing specialty prescriptions
  • An explanation on the expanding role of pharmacists
  • Information on Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy’s partnerships with hospitals, health providers, pharmaceutical manufacturers, and retail pharmacies
  • Health news and research summaries on Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy’s blog

The website is only one component of Diplomat’s social outreach to patients, physicians, partners and job seekers from across the country. The Company is also active on Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Google+.

“Patients who use Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy services are being treated for complex chronic conditions and life threating illnesses and often have questions about their clinical treatment plans, drug interactions, side effects and other topics related to their specialty pharmacy prescriptions,” said Cretu. “We connect with them using social media as a complement to our industry leading patient call centers, which handle over 50,000 calls each month. The easier it is for patients to reach out and connect with us, regardless of the medium, the greater the opportunity to meet our goals for patient compliance and adherence — and keeping patients healthier.”

Justine Dolorfino, Diplomat’s social media coordinator and webmaster, shares a recent story of how one panicked patient was able to get her prescriptions re-filled while on a trip overseas.

“I received a private message on Facebook from a Diplomat patient who needed assistance in getting a specialty drug while in Europe. I immediately forwarded the message to my supervisor, who triaged it on to the respective departments for assistance in getting the prescription filled and delivered the next day,” noted Dolorfino.
