APhA Releases New Edition of Immunization Handbook

WASHINGTON, DC — The American Pharmacists Association (APhA) recently published the 3rd edition of APhA’s Immunization Handbook, a reference that provides practical and timely updates for pharmacists and pharmacy staff who are involved in pharmacy-based immunization services. Updated throughout, the 20 chapters present a step-by-step process for developing and implementing immunization services. The book includes complete product information on most vaccines licensed in the United States.

Practical advice for pharmacists, pharmacy managers and owners, pharmacy technicians and student pharmacists involved in vaccine administration

The book is authored by Lauren B. Angelo, PharmD, MBA, Assistant Dean, Academic Affairs, and Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice, Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, North Chicago, Illinois. She teaches APhA’s Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery certificate training program to pharmacists throughout the country and has been actively involved in efforts to increase immunization rates.
