Pharmacy Times® and Parata Systems, the founding partners of the Next-Generation Pharmacist® awards, honored the 2019 winners, named at the annual awards gala Friday, October 25, at the Hotel del Coronado in San Diego, California.

Daniel S. Fuchs, RPh, pharmacist and owner of Fuchs Family Pharmacies, received the top honor: The 2019 Next-Generation Pharmacist®. He is featured on the cover of the October issue of Pharmacy Times®, which profiles his contributions to the industry.

“Each nominee, finalist, and winner recognized by their peers represents the future of pharmacy,” said Mark Longley, EVP of Sales and Marketing at Parata. “Honoring those who not only stand out in their profession but also work toward elevating the work of pharmacy teams is a privilege we never pass up.”

Nominations for the 10th annual Next-Generation Pharmacist® surpassed 475 entries across 10 award categories. An independent panel of distinguished judges evaluated entries for adherence to professional standards, experience related to each category and advancement of the profession.

The 3 highest-scoring entries in each category were named finalists, and the top-scoring entry was named the category winner. The overall Next-Generation Pharmacist® was chosen from among the winners of the 8 pharmacist categories.
