Seniors and other American mencovered by Medicare will no longerreceive Medicare coverage for erectiledysfunction drugs to improve sexualperformance.
The new reimbursement restrictions,which took effect on January 1, excludecoverage for Viagra (sildenafil citrate),Cialis (tadalafil), or Levitra (vardenafilHCl), unless they are prescribed for conditionsunrelated to sexual performance.Estimates by the CongressionalBudget Office suggest that the newMedicare restrictions could save asmuch as $2 billion by 2015.
