Hospital Launches Misys CPR

POH Medical Center, located in Pontiac, Mich, has implemented Misys CPR computer-based patient records. Currently, 1000 hospital personnel are using Misys CPR throughout the 328-bed hospital.

During the initial rollout over 13 months, health care professionals are using Misys CPR to electronically communicate and coordinate care throughout the patient's visit. Prior to launching the system, Misys and POH Medical Center analysts did thorough functional and integrated system testing including "mini-mock go lives" to confirm that the system met hospital requirements. The hospital staff also completed a 6-week training program using a specially designed database.

The next phase of implementation will expand Misys CPR to perform computerized physician order entry and to improve nursing documentation and clinical pathways. POH plans to install Misys Data Warehouse, an on-line data warehouse application that extracts clinical information from Misys CPR to provide outcome measurement tools for critical data evaluation.
