Albertsons Shows Appreciation for Employees Serving in Iraq
Albertsons is going the extra milefor its employees on active duty in Iraqand Afghanistan. Employees at theBoise, Idaho, headquarters recentlydonated their time to assemble carepackages of items donated by the companyfor each of the company's 200Guard and Reserve employees.
The care packages included disposablecameras, playing cards, toothpaste,and telephone calling cards, as well as abanner of support signed by the employees.Also, the company is shipping 185of its surplus computers to Camp Anaconda,the main Army base in centralIraq. Often, service personnel have towait hours in line to send an e-mailhome to their loved ones. The companyalso has agreed to pay the differencebetween the employees' military andcivilian pay and to continue benefits forthe employees and their families.
