Pharmacy Hero: Pharmacist Keeps His Cool During COVID-19 Pandemic

Today, we’re celebrating the work of Damien Simmons, PharmD, pharmacy manager at Atlantis Pharmacy in Atlantis, Florida. In addition to the long work hours and services such as free delivery that he has always provided, Simmons jumped into action to take care of his patients at the beginning of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

Simmons immediately began searching for the ingredients to compound hand sanitizer and worked to ensure the safety of pharmacy staff members, all while maintaining short wait times and safe practices for his patients. Despite the stress of the past few months, Simmons has never lost his cool and has continued to go above and beyond for staff and patients.
