Pharmacy Times Launches Innovative Platform to Deliver Co-Pay Information to Pharmacists and Consumers

PLAINSBORO, N.J. — June 10, 2013 – Pharmacy Times has launched a first-of-its-kind mobile platform, Cou-Co, to deliver discount co-pay information to pharmacists and consumers.

Cou-Co is a free, mobile-optimized website that features an aggregated list of co-pay discount programs and educational resources by therapeutic area. For example, a patient looking for cost savings for cardiovascular drugs could click on the “Cardiovascular” tab to find discount programs for 19 medications as well as educational articles for both the pharmacist and the patient.

Nearly 70 percent of pharmacists encounter patients looking for co-pay cards at least a few times per week, and more than three-quarters of pharmacists utilize co-pay cards at least once per day, according to a survey conducted by Pharmacy Times. With Cou-Co, pharmacists can direct patients to on their mobile devices to see what co-pay programs are available, streamlining the process.

Consumers can also utilize Cou-Co on their own by visiting on their mobile device or tablet and searching by therapeutic area to find co-pay discount programs and educational materials.

“Our mission at Pharmacy Times is to help pharmacists help patients,” said Tighe Blazier, Chief Operating Officer of Michael J. Hennessy Associates, Inc., the journal’s publisher. “Cou-Co is a new, convenient tool that patients can use to help make their medication more affordable, preventing them from having to go without or switch to a less expensive option that may not be optimal.”

To access Cou-Co, visit from your mobile device or tablet.
