Pharmacy Hero: Pharmacist Pitches in at Compounding Lab to Mitigate Staff Shortages

Today we’re celebrating the work of Andrea Torres, CPhT, who works at Axtell Pharmacy in Pilot Point, Texas.

Today we’re celebrating the work of Andrea Torres, CPhT, who works at Axtell Pharmacy in Pilot Point, Texas. Torres’s dedication has been vital during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, as the pharmacy has been short staffed.

“Not only is she doing long-term care, but she jumped in to help with our compounding lab,” said Christina Messer, CPhT, a fellow technician at Axtell Pharmacy. “She never stops. Coming in early and staying late is what she does. If it wasn’t for her, I wouldn’t have made it these last 2 weeks.”

Pharmacy Times® wants to celebrate the amazing pharmacy staff members who are on the front lines every day. Nominate someone in your pharmacy by emailing AAntrim@pharmacytimes.com with their name, position, and why they’re a hero!
