NCPA Launches State Advocacy Grant Program

New resource for state-based pharmacy advocacy orgs complements NCPA’s ongoing state regulatory and legislative work.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (Oct. 28, 2026) – The National Community Pharmacists Association today announced the launch of its State Advocacy Grant Program, a new initiative that reinforces NCPA’s ongoing advocacy efforts by offering strategic funding and support to state-based pharmacy organizations working to strengthen independent community and long-term care pharmacy.

“Some of the most important victories for patients and pharmacies will be won one state at a time and depend upon the strength and resilience of our state partners,” said NCPA CEO B. Douglas Hoey, pharmacist, MBA. “Through NCPA’s State Advocacy Grant Program, we’re proud to be offering another means of supporting these frontline defenders of our profession, boosting resources they can use tactically to amplify their voices, shape effective policy, and make meaningful change.”

The NCPA State Advocacy Grant Program is intended to bolster state-level advocacy efforts with a clear pathway toward successful outcomes that will benefit NCPA members, the profession, and the patients it serves. Those eligible to apply include state pharmacy associations, independent pharmacy associations, and other incorporated pharmacy advocacy organizations aligned with NCPA advocacy priorities such as commercial payment reform, pharmacy benefit manager-pharmacy ownership laws, audit reform legislation, state cost-of-dispensing surveys, and state-based funding programs for eligible pharmacies. Grant funds may support project-specific expenses such as government affairs consultants, public relations campaigns, economic impact studies, cost-of-dispense surveys, legislative events, educational meetings, and dedicated advocacy staff. Priority consideration will be given to projects with measurable objectives, a demonstrated legislative or regulatory opportunity, and a well-defined strategy for success.

It is designed to complement NCPA’s other state regulatory and legislative work like its State Panel of Experts, launched earlier this year to give state pharmacy associations complimentary access to the country’s best policy and legal experts for help crafting and advancing pharmacy and patient-friendly policies.
