GPhA Names Anna Mcdermott-Vitak Vice President, Corporate Development and Administration

The Generic Pharmaceutical Association is pleased to announce the appointment of Anna McDermott-Vitak as Vice President, Corporate Development and Administration. In her new role, McDermott-Vitak will oversee association membership, finance, IT, human resources and meetings.

WASHINGTON DC, — The Generic Pharmaceutical Association is pleased to announce the appointment of Anna McDermott-Vitak as Vice President, Corporate Development and Administration. In her new role, McDermott-Vitak will oversee association membership, finance, IT, human resources and meetings.

“Anna will strengthen our external engagement with current and prospective member organizations,” said Chip Davis, President and CEO, GPhA. “Anna’s vast experience will be valuable in efforts to enhance association operations, maximize our growth opportunities and help GPhA address the issues that matter most to stakeholders in the dynamic and rapidly growing generic drug and biosimilars markets.”

Anna McDermott-Vitak has expertise in all phases of product development, general management, investor relations and global government affairs gained through more than two decades of biotechnology industry experience. Most recently she was executive director of global government affairs for Amgen. Anna also has experience in investor relations and clinical research and development, including clinical trials, regulatory filings and approvals.

“I’m thrilled to be part of a team that helps bring more affordable medicine to millions of patients,” said McDermott-Vitak. “At a time when health costs are under scrutiny, this industry has a consistent record of generating billions in patient and health system savings while expanding access. I look forward to growing the voice of GPhA within and beyond the Beltway while guiding the association through an exciting period of development and expansion.”

McDermott-Vitak has a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology, with a Master’s in Business Administration in Marketing, both from LaSalle University, and has also taken classes at the John Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). She is also active with the special needs community in her capacity as co-leader of Cheer for LA2015, an organization that provides an opportunity for cheerleaders with intellectual disabilities to cheer on athletes at the Special Olympics World Games and board member of the Catholic Coalition for Special Education.
