Huntington, W.Va., : Mountwest Community & Technical College recently received a $5,000 gift from the West Virginia-based Fruth Pharmacy.

The gift will go to fund scholarships for students in Mountwest’s Pharmacy Technician program and pharmacy software that will give students hands-on experience with real-world applications. In addition, the Fruth gift will also support a new externship program through which Information Technology students at the college will gain on-the-job training experience with Fruth.

“This is a partnership that makes sense,” Lynne Fruth, President of Fruth Pharmacy replied in regards to the new scholarship fund for Mountwest Community & Technical College. “We look forward to working with the staff and students from Mountwest. The PDX-EPS system we are providing for the pharmacy technician program is the same system utilized by chains such as Target & Kroger, so the assistance we are providing will allow students be job ready and valuable to many different companies within the community. We hope to provide invaluable experience to Mountwest’s students.”
