Balancing Work and Life in Pharmacy

Article

I challenge you to make an integrated life your goal for 2016.

As 2016 approaches, you may be thinking about making a New Year’s resolution. One idea that frequently crops up is doing a better job of balancing work and personal life.

I found Michael O’Hara’s blog post titled “Stop Using ‘Work-Life Balance’ and Start Using ‘Work-Life Integration’” helpful, as it mirrors my own thoughts about living an integrated life, rather than a “balanced” one.

Although I didn’t always do it right as I worked hard to be a good father/husband and a successful pharmacist leader, seeing these roles as part of the whole, rather than as competing activities, helped me fulfill both activities better.

I challenge you to make an integrated life your goal for 2016.
