PRESS RELEASE

Los Angeles, CA — June 8, 2015 –

BabyFirst

and the

American Heart Association

announced the launch of Harry’s Healthy Garden app, a mobile app the organizations developed together to help get young children excited about vegetables, fruit and healthy eating.

Just in time for National Gardening Week,

Harry’s Healthy Garden

features BabyFirst’s popular Harry the Bunny character as he helps toddlers grow and prepare a variety of vegetables and fruit in a virtual garden. In the Child Zone, kids can design, plant, tend and harvest their gardens, then prepare their produce by chopping, juicing, baking and grilling. In the Parent Zone, parents can find reports on their child’s activities in the app, access kid-friendly recipes for each vegetable and fruit featured in the app, and find more resources on healthy eating and living.

The app was designed for children ages 2-4 by experts in child development, healthy eating and gardening. It teaches important skills and lessons about where food comes from while also helping interest children in trying and eating healthy foods.

“We are proud to work with BabyFirst to encourage healthy eating from an early age through an engaging and educational mobile app,” said Kim Stitzel, SVP for Preventive Health Markets at the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association. “Developing healthy eating habits delivers life-long benefits and we are committed to helping kids and families live heart-healthy lives.”

“Millions of parents use BabyFirst programming and apps to introduce babies and toddlers to basic building blocks like numbers, language, music and art,” said Sharon Rechter, co-founder and EVP, Business Development, BabyFirst. “Healthy eating is an important building block during early childhood, and we are pleased to collaborate with the American Heart Association to launch this innovative app featuring our popular Harry the Bunny character.”

Harry’s Healthy Garden is free to download and available for iOS devices in the

iTunes App Store
