SURVEY FOCUSES ON DRUG TAKEBACK PROGRAMS

The Maine Benzodiazepine StudyGroup is seeking pharmacists' input todetermine how many take-back anddisposal drug programs are in the UnitedStates. Currently, no consolidated listof these programs exists across thecountry and abroad. The goal is that thesurvey will be updated annually.

The results will be published in theNational Directory for Drug Take-Backand Disposal Programs. The findings willbe presented at the November 2008International Symposium on Pharmaceuticalsin the Home and Environment:Catalysts for Change.

The survey is spearheaded bythe Maine group, but will be conductedby the Community MedicalFoundation for Patient Safety inBellaire, Texas. To take the survey,visit www.mainebenzo.org/.
