SENIOR CAMPAIGN GETS UNDER WAY
Older adultshave a new resourcefor healthyaging. CVS/pharmacyand the National Council onAging (NCOA) have launched the Prescriptionfor Better Health Campaign.
The initiative will provide health education,information on prevention, andaccess to benefits in nearly 6200CVS/pharmacy stores nationwide, aswell as in the community throughNCOA's nationwide network. The campaignincludes the following:
Prevention—Regular health screeningsin select markets with communityoutreach supported by NCOA
Education—Informing seniors abouthow to take better care of their healththrough the availability of resources inCVS/pharmacy locations nationwide
Avoiding adverse drug reactions—CVS pharmacists hosting informationsessions in their communities as partof events at local senior centers andNCOA member organizations
Access—CVS/pharmacy promotingNCOA's BenefitsCheckUp, a comprehensiveWeb-based service to screenfor benefit programs for seniors withlimited income and resources.
