VNA of Texas Selects Misys Homecare
The Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) of Texas recently selected Misys Homecare software. The software is part of the Misys Optimum line of products from Misys Healthcare Systems. Misys Homecare will automate VNA of Texas'health care delivery process by moving to a paperless operation, improving patient care, and enhancing workflow efficiency. The software also will help the association reach its goals of increasing field workforce mobility and effectiveness and accomplishing a single enterprise database platform.
"The system will enable faster information capture and improved data access and analysis for our management, referring physicians, and field practitioners, including nurses, therapists, chaplains, social workers, volunteer coordinators, and home health aides. These 850 field employees depend on reliable and up-to-theminute information to perform their jobs remotely while providing services to patients in the home," said Robert Carpenter, chief executive officer of VNA of Texas.
The software solution offers a complete set of Web services for home care agencies. Many VNA of Texas field practitioners plan to take advantage of the Misys Alert Manager, an e-mail notification engine, to stay in touch with the association. The VNA of Texas also will use the Misys Homecare Portal module to allow physicians to review and approve 485 documents (physician orders under Medicare) either at a hospital or at their office.
