Pharmacists are an important touch point for PQA, and they're starting small and thinking big.

Pharmacy Times spoke with Lisa Hines, PQA Chief Quality and Innovation Officer, about what these new data sources allow pharmacists to measure that they have not been able to previously.

Hines: So these data sources are allowing us to really get at things that claims data don't and looking at outcomes, gap closure for immunizations, achieving clinical intermediate outcomes, such as a one sided goal or blood pressure goal, and then the sky's the limit whatever is meaningful to payers and for the greater good. What can pharmacists do to drive that value? In even thinking about expanding into assessing screening and triaging for social determinants of health, and pharmacists are an important touch point, and we're starting small and we're thinking big.
