The National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) has launched an on-line Medicare Resource Center to help with the transition to Medicare Part D. The site is designed to provide community pharmacists with the knowledge and tools needed to successfully implement the drug benefit program.
Information found on the site includes materials and resources addressing Medicare Part D contracts, how to communicate with Medicare beneficiaries concerning Part D, continuing education opportunities, preregistration for NCPA's Medicare Rx Forums, and frequently asked questions for both pharmacists and patients.
"In order to successfully overcome the challenges and make the most of the opportunities, community pharmacists must be prepared. NCPA is committed to doing its part to prepare pharmacists, and in turn their patients, for the biggest change in Medicare's 40-year history. The Medicare Resource Center will serve as the one-stop resource connecting the nation's community pharmacists with the many tools and resources developed and compiled by NCPA on this important topic," said Bruce Roberts, RPh, executive vice president and chief executive officer for NCPA.
