PQA's Goals for Growing Pharmacy Measures

The goals of the pharmacy measures are ultimately to be used in value based arrangements.

Pharmacy Times spoke to Lisa Hines, PQA Chief Quality and Innovation Officer, about PQA's goals for pharmacy measures.

Hines: The goals of the pharmacy measures are ultimately to be used in value based arrangements and to have them be standardized so that pharmacies know what to expect and what the measurement stick is, so to say. And then, also, the pharmacy measures could be used in pharmacy accreditation programs as well. And who knows, maybe someday there'll be a pharmacy quality program owned by CMS. That would be great.
