As PRIDE month comes to a close, we have a special bonus episode featuring Danny Stephens, MD, National Director of Family & Child Wellness, about the impact of PRIDE and the LGBTQ+ community as a health care professional.
Stephens is a Pediatrician and most recently the Deputy Commissioner for Family and Child Health at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene focused on the the city’s COVID-19 response affecting schools, children and youth alongside the overall public health of the city’s families and children.
As a former public school teacher and coach in Compton, California he has experience working with children and families prior to his path into medicine and public health. In NYC he’s worked clinically in the public hospital system, Federally Qualified Health Centers as well as in leadership working with children and families in foster care.
