Menstrual Cups: Tips for Pharmacists to Discuss with Patients

Article

Advice for patients who are considering menstrual cups.

In this video, which was taken at the National Association of Chain Drug Stores-Total Store Expo (NACDS-TSE), John Szustaczek, MBA, President, Ultumum Sales and Marketing Group, explains the benefits of menstrual cups that pharmacists need to know.

Transcript: John Szustaczek: "There are a lot of benefits of switching to a menstrual cup. First and foremost, it allows you to wear the product for up to 12 hours at a time, so you don't have to run to the washroom to change your product every 2-4 hours. Also, consumers save a lot of money. You end up buying one menstrual cup per year and reusing that cup. The additional benefit is to the environment. Women who use a menstrual cup are not throwing away as much waste as they do with traditional feminine hygeine products."
