POLL EXAMINES DRUG SAFETY VIEWS
A recent survey of 1726 individualsrevealed their perceptions about drugsafety.
The poll, which was conducted byHarris Interactive and the PharmaceuticalSafety Institute, found that:
• 52% of respondents felt it is very orhighly important to receive safetyinformation on drugs
• 33% of respondents often or alwaysseek drug safety data for themselves,a family member, or someonethey provide with care
• 53% of respondents felt that a physicianor health care provider is a sourcethey trust to receive more informationabout the side effects of drugs
• 69% of respondents are confidentthat the drug companies releaseinformation they have about adrug?s adverse reactions as soon asit becomes available
