Tips for Handling RLS

Individuals with restless leg syndrome(RLS) often experience tingling,burning, and aching sensationsin their legs. Oftentimes thesymptoms appear just as individualsare falling asleep, causing themto get out of bed and walk around toget relief.
A recent Mayo Health Clinic Letteroffers the following suggestions tohelp cope with the disorder:
- Take nonprescription pain relievers
- Soak in a warm bath
- Massage the legs
- Learn to relax, especially before going to bed
- Try heat or cold packs, or alternate between the 2
