Weight loss may help relieve psoriasis symptoms in obese patients, according to a study published online on May 29, 2013, by JAMA Dermatology. Sixty obese patients diagnosed with psoriasis were either restricted to a low calorie diet for 16 weeks or were instructed to eat healthy foods. Patients in the low calorie group improved their Psoriasis Area and Severity Index and Dermatology Life Quality Index scores.
