- Explain the trends contributing to the growing need for compounding services, such as the aging Baby Boomer generation and demand for individualized patient care
- Apply compounding regulations and guidelines outlined in Section 503A and USP 795
- Compare recent studies indicating a lack of compliance and consistency in compounding and the risks to patient safety these issues present
- Identify strategies and tools that pharmacists may use to simplify compounding practices and improve compliance, particularly regarding conditions such as Clostridium difficile colitis or gastroesophageal reflux disease
