Robert Borchers is a compounding pharmacist for Midwestern Compounding Pharmacy. “One of his greatest gifts is his generous ability to pass along his infinite pharmacy knowledge to the next generation of pharmacists,” his nominator wrote. “Bob has always been at the forefront of everything in pharmacy and feels that educating the pharmacy students is one of his greatest accomplishments.”

Greatest Achievements

A physician directed a patient specifically to me after she had experienced several miscarriages. His directions were to “have Bob develop this prescription for you and utilize it exactly as he directs.” The result was not 1, but 2 healthy boys. I had no idea she had been blessed with twins until she brought them into the pharmacy one day to see me.

William Sheridan is a retired pharmacy merchandiser for the Kroger Company. According to his nominator, “Bill’s forward-thinking vision for pharmacy practice is apparent in all aspects of his career. Bill had the vision to be one of the first community pharmacy chains to offer ‘walk-in’ flu vaccines, increasing convenience and accessibility.”

Greatest Achievements

Being part of a team that brought pharmacy into a retail store that the patient visits frequently, a grocery store (Kroger). Proving that we are a real pharmacy serving the customer and pushing the profession forward.

The associates I worked with are who inspired me. Watching them grow with their new ideas and being able to build from those ideas has been very rewarding.

Personal Philosophy

We are dealing with patients’ lives. They are trusting us to make them better. There is nothing more valuable to them than their health or that of a loved one.

Vision for Pharmacy

The pharmacist role continues to change with many new services. Yet, the biggest challenge will be not to lose sight of taking care of the patient “one at a time.”
