MediSafe Project

MediSafe Project is a cloudsynced mobile app designed to avoid complications from under- or over-dosing medications. The app is intended primarily for Android users, but is also available for Apple devices. The app aims to involve multiple caregivers in health maintenance and medical compliance. It was developed after a cofounder’s family member received a doubledose of insulin, causing a life-threatening emergency. The app’s core feature is a reminder function that prompts users to take their medication on time, enforcing medication adherence. The reminder feature includes several sound choices and an easy-to-adjust interface, and is designed to go off even if a device is asleep. A list of meds to be taken during a given day is included as well, allowing patients to check off their medicines as they take them. Once set, the cloud function syncs the medication reminders with other selected devices, such as family members’ phones or tablet devices. The app sends confirmation messages if a patient has taken the required medications or a reminder alert if a dose is skipped.
