MedScape, from popular medical website WebMD, introduces a redesigned version of its medical resource application. The app’s improved features are easily integrated into the pharmacist’s daily practice.
Users can easily access the app’s 129 medical calculators through a new calculator feature. Calculators cover formulas, scales, and classifications, support US and SI units, and include detailed notes and references for each result. The calculators also provide more than 600 drug monographs and integrated dosing calculators.
Another new feature allows pharmacists to access the formulary information for 1800 insurance plans across all 50 states. App users can save frequently accessed plans, allowing them to compare tier status for various drugs quickly and easily recommend alternate drugs for patients.
The user interface has been redesigned and now supports iPhone 5 and iPad mini.
MedScape continues to include daily updates on medical news and critical alerts covering 34 specialty areas, drug and safety information for brand name, generic, and OTC drugs and supplements, medical condition and procedure information, and more.
