Upon completion of this educational activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Discuss the epidemiology and clinical presentation of recurrent herpes labialis (RHL), recurrent aphthous ulcers (RAUs), and xerostomia.
  2. Explain the pathophysiology and identify signs and symptoms of RHL, RAUs, and xerostomia.
  3. Summarize the nonpharmacologic and preventive strategies for treating of RHL, RAUs, and xerostomia.
  4. Describe the various prescription and OTC options for the management of RHL, RAUs, and xerostomia.
