The strange dots and loops in this doctor’s handwriting mystified Marie Baronne, RPh, of ShopRite Pharmacy in Jackson, New Jersey. She had to call the prescriber’s office to find out what medication to dispense.

The physician who wrote this prescription is no stranger to phone calls from stumped pharmacists. “The MD told me he gets a lot of phone calls,” writes Ira Green, RPh, the pharmacist who filled the script at CVS Pharmacy in Washingtonville, New York.
