IVR and Workflow Advance Pharmacy

Published Online: Friday, December 1, 2006

The joint efforts between ScriptPro and TeleManager Technologies Inc will advance the functionality for the Refill TeleManager Interactive Voice Response (IVR) System through ScriptPro's SP Central Workflow System. The newly integrated IVR/workflow product provides services that are distinctive in the industry. Patients will have more information regarding the status of their prescriptions, and the pharmacists will know the real-time status and locations of every prescription.

ScriptPro's integrated IVR allows patients to call the pharmacy and punch in a prescription number to refill a script. They also can receive complete data about the status of a prescription on the phone—ie, whether the physician has authorized a refill yet. The pharmacist can click and view instantly all prescriptions coming through the IVR and see their status on the SP Checkpoint or SP Station workflow screen. Using multimedia graphics, the pharmacist can view, listen, enter data, or transcribe on the screen. SP Central keeps a log of all pharmacy calls during the past week, and any discrepancies can be investigated by checking the log.
