CHW Implements Medication Information Solution

San Francisco-based Catholic Healthcare West (CHW) will implement Thomson Micromedex's comprehensive medication information solution throughout its 40-hospital system. The Web-based technology will promote more informed and safer treatment decisions at the point of care.

The health system serves 22 million individuals in California, Arizona, and Nevada. Pharmacists, physicians, nurses, and other caregivers will have access to Micromedex Healthcare Series via the provider's secure system-wide Intranet connection at all facilities. The Web-enabled navigation reduces clinicians' search times by providing quick access to the latest answers on disease, drug, and toxicology information. CHW will have access to Micromedex's Healthcare Series drug content solutions, including DRUGDEX, AltMedDex, and Formulary Advisor.
