Medical Integration Provides Constant Day to Day Follow Up with Patients

Article

In this clip from the the National Community Oncology Dispensing Association's Spring Forum, Chris Kepinski, PharmD, a Pharmacy Director at Southern Oncology Specialists, explains how the medically integrated model provides constant patient care.

Transcript:

So, with medically integrated dispensaries, the big thing that we have to take away from it is having everybody have a role and knowing what their role is. It’s a full team effort, their supportive team, whether it be family or friends. Then you go into the doctors, the nurses, the CMAs, the pharmacist, so it’s everbody working together and knowing what’s going on. It’s not just a doctor writing a prescription, sending it to a pharmacy and then checking up on the patient 3 months later. It’s constant day to day follow up with the patient.
