Pharmacy Tech Pleads Guilty to Stealing 48,000 Painkillers

A female hospital pharmacy technician in Georgia has pleaded guilty to stealing and conspiring to distribute more than 48,000 highly addictive prescription painkillers.

Buffie Bradford admitted in federal court to stealing the pills and will be charged with a single count of conspiracy to possess drugs with the intent of distribution, according to The Times Union.

While working at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Bradford stole hydrocodone and Xanax between September 2013 and March 2014. According to court records, she was planning to sell the drugs on the street.

Bradford, 37, of Wayne County, Georgia, could face 10 years in prison.

The Georgia Drugs and Narcotics Agency and the Drug Enforcement Administration both investigated the case.
