A pharmacy technician in Cleveland, Ohio, may be responsible for initiating a drug operation worth $50,00.

A pharmacy technician in Cleveland County, North Carolina, may be responsible for initiating a drug operation worth $50,000, according to WSOCTV.

Lisa Jones, who worked as a pharmacy tech at a Boiling Springs pharmacy, has been charged with larceny by employee, trafficking in opium/heroin, and possession with the intent to sell hydrocodone, WSOCTV reported.

In addition, 5 other individuals have been arrested on felony charges after the police uncovered the drug operation.

Police maintain that Jones stole thousands of pills from her pharmacy and gave the drugs to other members of the drug operation to distribute throughout the community.

The police were led to Jones after they discovered more than 3200 hydrocodone pills, 99 Xanax pills, 364 grams of hydroponically grown marijuana, a stolen gun, and more than $5000 in cash at the homes of Patrick Greene and Zeke Houser, according to WSOCTV. In addition to Greene, Houser, and Jones, police also rounded up Tyler Hunt, Charles Morrison II, and Jerry Greene for arrests.

The street value of the seized pills totaled $50,000, police told WSOCTV.

“This arrest and the quantity of the pills that were seized shows just how serious the problem is with the diversion of prescription medication,” Cleveland County Sheriff Alan Norman told WSOCTV.
