Pharmacists Wave Away Wannabe Armed Robber

Picture a fedora-wearing man walking into a pharmacy and demanding money while brandishing a gun.

Although police advise alerting the authorities and not handling the situation alone, 2 pharmacists in Spain who were confronted with this problem waved the wannabe robber away and were remarkably not harmed or burglarized.

A video taken before closing time at a pharmacy in Seville, Spain, showed a man striding up to the counter, pulling out a gun, and pointing it at the pharmacist’s face. The pharmacist, in turn, pushed the man’s arm away from him several times. The man then turned to a second pharmacist located in 1 of the store’s aisles, but that pharmacist did not cooperate with him either.

According to the Daily Mail, 1 of the pharmacists, Amaru Barrios Ruiz, said he told the man that he wasn’t going to get anything from the store.

“He looked completely dumbfounded and repeated the demand pointing the gun at me again,” Ruiz told the Daily Mail. “So I pushed it away and told him no.”

A customer in the store told the Daily Mail she was aware of the situation but “wasn’t the slightest bit interested” in what the man was demanding.

“It was pretty bizarre really, both for us and I guess especially for him,” Ruiz told the Daily Mail. “He wanted to rob us and more or less got ignored.”

After the wannabe robber realized his attempts were not getting him anywhere, he shrugged and left the store.

A police spokesperson commented on the situation in the Daily Mail and said the pharmacists were lucky nothing happened, and that individuals confronted with this kind of situation should call the police.
