City Pharmacies Encounter Armed Robbers
Armed robberies recently occurred at 2 Walgreens and a Rite Aid in Greensboro, North Carolina, alone.
Police in Greensboro, North Carolina, have charged 2 men with common law robbery for thefts committed at 3 different city pharmacies on October 26, 2014.
Ronald Eugene Johnson, 52, was charged with 3 counts of common law robbery, while Kevin Ronte Curry, 26, was charged with 2 counts of conspiracy to commit robbery, WXII12 reports.
The robberies occurred at 2 Walgreens and a Rite Aid, with all 3 incidents involving a male suspect who demanded money from the front counter. In at least 2 of the robberies, the suspect implied having a gun and was seen getting into a gold sedan occupied by another person.
In Nampa, Idaho, a man recently pleaded not guilty to charges of burglary and possession of a controlled substance stemming from the theft of prescription drugs from a Walgreens store.
Austin Howard, 23, entered his plea on October 24, 2014, and faces up to 10 years in prison for the burglary charge, as well as 7 years in prison for the possession charge, The Idaho Press-Tribune reports.
Howard allegedly entered the Walgreens on October 1, 2014, and demanded prescription pills, which the pharmacist produced. He allegedly told police that he used half of the 100-count pill bottle and sold the remaining pills.
In another city in Idaho, police are searching for a man suspected of robbing a Sav-Mor Pharmacy in Twin Falls on October 25, 2014.
According to KMVT, a male around 6 feet tall who was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and camouflage pants displayed a gun and demanded pills at approximately 2:50 p.m. that day.
The suspect allegedly left the pharmacy on foot, and no one was injured during the incident.
Oklahoma City Police are searching for a man who broke into Reliable Pharmacy at 3:15 a.m. on October 19, 2014.
According to a report from Fox 25 KOKH-TV Oklahoma City, surveillance video allegedly shows a man throwing a rock through the pharmacy’s window and then taking items off store shelves.
