Getting involved in extracurriculars while in pharmacy school can seem like a daunting task. Between balancing school, work, and a personal life, time management can feel like an impossibility. However, getting involved in pharmacy organizations can provide invaluable resources and help to differentiate your resume from your peers. Listed below are several of the major pharmacy organizations.
 
Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP)
AMCP is dedicated to the practice of pharmaceutical care in managed health care environments. Within the managed care field, pharmacists have the opportunity to participate in formulary management, health care cost containment, outcomes research, and patient education. Benefits of AMCP student registration includes educational newsletters, Journal of Managed Care Pharmacy subscription, discounted conference registration rates, and the opportunity to participate in a national clinical skills competition.
