Stopping Pharmacy Tobacco Sales Benefits Patients

SEPTEMBER 07, 2015
I previously commented about CVS Health’s decision to stop tobacco sales at its pharmacies and suggested that other pharmacy chains follow the company’s example

Now, a new report from CVS shows that the decision to drop tobacco actually makes a difference in reducing the number of cigarettes smoked and possibly the population of smokers.

Pharmacists must put the needs of their patients ahead of themselves and help others do what is right. At least one pharmacy chain is on the same path.

Pharmacists working for other pharmacy chains should encourage their employers to do what is right, as well. Society will benefit, as this report suggests.
