Iodosorb and Iodoflex

Smith & Nephew Inc (Largo, Fla) recently announced that US marketing rights for Iodosorb and Iodoflex brands will transfer from HealthPoint to Smith & Nephew Wound Management. With the exception of the United States, Smith & Nephew currently owns and markets Iodosorb and Iodoflex throughout the world. For the past 10 years, HealthPoint has had exclusive marketing rights in the United States. Therefore, with this transfer, Smith & Nephew will consolidate exclusive rights to market these brands worldwide. The products are indicated for use in cleaning wet ulcers and wounds such as venous stasis ulcers, pressure sores, and infected wounds. Iodosorb assists in wound area protection and in reducing the microbial load in the wound environment. Its unique technology also accounts for its capacity to deslough and absorb exudate from wet wounds and ulcers. Package sizes for both products will remain the same, with changes only to the package appearance to reflect Smith & Nephew corporate branding and the new product codes.
