Scranton, Pa, Tops Asthma Capitals

The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA) recently released its third annual US Asthma Capitals rankings. The order is based on 12 factors from 3 broad categories?prevalence, risk, and medical factors?for all 100 metropolitan areas. This year, AAFA is calling attention to allergic asthma. Research conducted by the organization indicated that nearly half of all asthma patients do not have their asthma under "control," and awareness about allergic asthma is low. The complete list is available at www.AsthmaCapitals.com. The top 10 Asthma Capitals are:

  • Richmond, Va
  • Philadelphia, Pa
  • Atlanta, Ga
  • Milwaukee, Wis
