Nevada Goes Electronic

Published Online: Sunday, January 1, 2006

Sierra Health Services is partnering with the Clark County Medical Society to provide funding for electronic prescribing (e-prescribing) for physicians practicing in Nevada. Allscripts will provide the e-prescribing technology for this statewide initiative.

The organizations are working together to promote the use of e-prescribing to enhance quality, reduce potential medication errors, and improve satisfaction and convenience.

As part of the initiative, Allscripts provided Sierra Health Services with a lower rate for e-prescribing. Physician members of the Clark County Medical Society will be eligible for a 10-year software license at no charge, and it will fund up to 2 years of monthly maintenance services. All other physicians in Nevada are eligible to receive the software at no charge but will be responsible for a minimal monthly fee.
