Medi-Dose Inc (Ivyland, Pa) recently introduced Medi-Dose Information Labeling Technology (MILT) 2.0 for its TampAlerT and LiquidDose packaging and labeling systems. MILT 2.0 contains an upgradable (through the Internet) National Drug Code (NDC) database. The operator simply types or scans in the NDC number from a manufacturer's container (or types the medication name), and the pertinent information about the drug will appear. This information can be mapped to designated fields within the software, reducing the potential for medical errors. MILT 2.0 also was designed with enhanced security features, such as a customer user setting to allow or limit access to certain operations.
