Organon USA (Roseland, NJ) recently announced the availability of a 900-international unit (IU) presentation of Follistim AQ Cartridge for use with the Follistim Pen. The Follistim AQ Cartridge is the first follicle-stimulating hormone treatment available in a prefilled, premixed solution approved in the United States. The product eliminates the need for patients to mix 1 or more vials of medication. The Follistim AQ Cartridge is indicated for the development of multiple follicles in ovulatory patients participating in an assisted reproductive technology program. In addition, it is indicated for the induction of ovulation and pregnancy in anovulatory infertile patients in whom the cause of infertility is functional and not due to primary ovarian failure.
